Allowing Things to Grow

Allowing Things to Grow

You’ve planted your seeds, watered your garden – now what do you do? You wait for things to grow. There is an inherent Law of Growth in each seed which already knows what is needed to becoming the full, healthy plant bearing fruit and flower. Once the seed is planted, while we water and fertilize, our job is to let it grow.

Contemplation: How is this true in your life? Are you allowing things to grow in their own time, in their own way? Where are you becoming impatient and therefore doubtful? Spend some time imagining the things you’ve intended in your life, growing all on their own. What if you simply relaxed and allowed that growth to happen. How does that feel? What is you part while you’re allowing things to grow?

Affirmation: I allow things to grow with perfect confidence. I trust the Law of Growth

Don’t Dig Up the Seed

Don’t Dig Up the Seed

Can you imagine what would happen if you planted a row of seeds, and then keep digging them up to see if they are growing? How can the seed keep growing its little roots, and drawing what it needs from the soil, if you keep pulling out to see if it’s growing? Can you see how each time, the seed must start over again, put out new little root hairs, and that at some point it will simply no longer be able to do that? At which point the seed can no longer grow.

You dig up your seed every time you doubt it, fear it won’t happen, interfere by trying to make it happen yourself, or simply fret and worry about it.

Contemplation: In what ways are you digging up your seed of intentional, affirmative thought?

Affirmation: I let go of fear, doubt, and trying to make things happen. I trust the process.

Staying With Your Intention

Staying With Your Intention

How do you stay focused on your intention, while waiting for it to become something real in your life? This is perhaps one of the hardest aspects of spiritual living. The best analogy I know is the seed in the garden. When you plant a carrot seed, for instance, you know you want carrots, you expect carrots, and you assume you will get carrots. You know this, even before you can see any little leaves poking out through the soil. And even then, it’s still weeks before you can pick the fully grown carrots.

The same is true with your intention. Once you have set your intention, you stay focused on the end result. Even when you can’t see anything happening, you know it is. Once little things start happening along the way, you know it may still be some time before it’s fully grown. Be patient, stay focused, and remember the carrot.

Contemplation: Where am I being impatient with growth and expansion in my life? What helps me remember to be patient?

Affirmation: I am patient. I trust and know the demonstration is on its way.

The Power of Trained Thought

The Power of Trained Thought

Notice what you spend the most time thinking about. (repetition) Notice what thoughts cause your heart to race or your stomach to churn? (energy) Then focus on how often you deliberately think thoughts, in a concentrated, concerted manner because you have decided to think about them? (intention)

“Trained thought is more powerful than untrained thought.” – Ernest Holmes Trained thought, which you use in affirmations, spiritual mind treatment, or any intentional work, is much more powerful than a thought you simply think. When this deliberate thought is coupled with the energy of conviction and the consistency or repetition, it is unstoppable.

Contemplation: Are you paying attention to the thoughts you think that have the most repetition, energy or intention? These are the thoughts that are creating your life.

Affirmation: Every day my trained thought is focused on my life, the life of those I love, and for the wellbeing of humanity and the planet.

Trusting the Law

Trusting the Law

Every spiritual tradition teaches the power of prayer. This power is actually the power of the Universal Spiritual Law co-creating life through your belief and intention. Jesus of Nazareth taught this law when he said “As you believe, so be it done unto you.” Your only focus needs to be on your thought and belief. The Law will take care of the rest.

This is an amazing place of hope and comfort. You don’t have to figure out how something will heal or manifest. All you need to do is trust in the Law. You use this trust every time you plant a seed. You trust that the seed and the soil, through some process no one really understands, will grow into the plant you desire. Trust the law with your intention and belief, it to will grow into what you desire.

Contemplation:There is a power for Good in the Universe, and you can use it.” – Ernest Holmes Do you believe this? Are you deliberately using it?

Affirmation: I use the power of my word and intention for good in my life, humanity, and creation.

What are You Choosing to Plant?

What are You Choosing to Plant?

Are you making that choice or are you simply letting things grow out of habit? You are completely free to choose to plant whatever you want to grow in the garden of your life.

Your intention is what plants the seed. Your attention is what makes it grow.

Are you planting weeds that will choke out your garden through on-going negativity, judgment, criticism complaint, unforgiveness, or fear? Are you planting seeds that will bloom and bear fruit through deliberate and consciousness attention to the good in your life, the joy you do experience, the abundance that is yours, the presence of Spirit and Love that is real?

Contemplation: What are you paying attention to? What are you habitually thinking? What intentions do you want to actively plant and attend to so that it grows?

Affirmation: I set my intention and pay attention to its growth.

Tending Your Garden

Tending Your Garden

Every day you are tending to your life, by tending to the garden of your mind and consciousness. Planting, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, watering, pruning all have a place in this process. Preparing the soil, choosing the seeds, thinning rows, transplanting, and harvesting are also required.

Contemplation: How can you relate this analogy to things you are doing in your mind and consciousness to tend to your life. What are you planting? What are you weeding? What needs to be pruned? What are you using as fertilizer?

Affirmation: I tend to my consciousness with spiritual practice, positivity and joy.

Cultivating the Soil of Your Life

Cultivating the Soil of Your Life

Your consciousness is the soil in which your intentions take root and grow. Is your consciousness rich and fertile, so that it receives your intentions easily and helps them grow; Or is your consciousness hard and closed, rejecting new intentions; Or is your consciousness dry and barren, with nothing to give in support of your new life.

Cultivating a rich and fertile consciousness can be done every day. This might include tiling the soil with daily spiritual practices; providing the sunshine of a positive outlook; fertilizing with a willingness to see things differently; watering with possibilities, and allowing Life to grow you.

Contemplation: Are you open to cultivating the soil of your life? What are you currently doing to grow your consciousness?

Affirmation: I cultivate my consciousness and my spiritual connection every day.

New Life Stirs Within

New Life Stirs Within

Become aware as new ideas, a new inner urging, a renewed sense of purpose arises within you. Seek to feel the ways new life is constantly stirring within. Spirit is always seeking to express more of Itself as you – more life, more love, more joy – and your life is ever growing to accommodate this inner urge.

Sometimes new life stirs up and reawakens an old sense of purpose. This may be something you put away as childish or silly or unattainable. Sometimes life stirs by prompting something so new you’ve never considered it before. This may also feel silly or unattainable.

Contemplation: Listen for and write about these inner urgings. How is new life stirring within you today? If you stopped thinking it was silly or unattainable, what new thing would you start growing in your life today.

Affirmation: I pay attention to the inner promptings that stir my soul

Planting the Seeds of a New Life

Planting the Seeds of a New Life

Every day you have the opportunity to think a new thought. This new thought is the seed of the new life you want to create and experience. Plant this thought in your consciousness like planting a row of carrot seeds. Each time you affirm this idea, it’s like you are planting another seed in the row.

Contemplation: What new thought do you want to plant to today? Take some time to write down some of the things you’d like to become or experience. Then imagine what new thought embodies that idea. You might start with “I now….” As you write these down, which resonates with you the most at this moment? Begin today planting that new thought, over and over and over gain.

Affirmation: Today I deliberately plant new, powerfully positive thoughts about my life, our planet, and the awakening of humanity.

A Prayer For World Peace by Ernest Holmes

A Prayer For World Peace by Ernest Holmes

I know there is but One Mind, which is the Mind of God, in which all people live and move and have their being.

I know there is a Divine Pattern for humanity and within this Pattern there is infinite harmony and peace, cooperation, unity, and mutual helpfulness.

I know that the mind of humanity, being one with the Mind of God, shall discover the method, the way, and the means best fitted to permit the flow of Divine Love between individuals and nations.

Thus harmony, peace, cooperation, unity, and mutual helpfulness will be experienced by all.

I know there shall be a free interchange of ideas, of cultures, of spiritual concepts, of ethics, of educational systems, and of scientific discoveries–for all good belongs to all alike.

I know that, because the Divine Mind has created us all, we are bound together in one infinite and perfect unity.

In bringing about World Peace, I know that all people and all nations will remain individual, but unified for the common purpose of promoting peace, happiness, harmony, and prosperity.

I know that deep within every person the Divine Pattern of perfect peace is already implanted.

I now declare that in each person and in leaders of thought everywhere this Divine Pattern moves into action and form, to the end that all nations and all people shall live together in peace, harmony and prosperity forever.

And So It Is.

Prayer for Peace in Ukraine and Russia

Prayer for Peace in Ukraine and Russia

Let me remember today, that Spirit is the living, breathing, loving essence which flows through all life. Spirit is the Source of the Life which beats at the heart of the Universe.

Let me remember today, that every person is a spark of the Divine, the Mystery of Life and Love, wanting to be lived as each one of us. We are all united in one common humanity, and one common love.

Let me remember today, those that have died, suffered and are wounded, for they are children of one humanity. Each is an infinitely, precious child of Life and I know that Love is wrapping healing arms, caring hearts and a peaceful presence around each and everyone.

Let me remember today, those that grieve over the losses they are suffering. I stand in loving, compassionate prayer, that comfort and love may bring forth the Presence of Peace in their lives.

Let me remember today, that hate and anger only fuel the cycle of fear and violence. Today I turn to the loving, compassionate Presence, to pray for the light to come to those who are filled with such greed for power and money, that they would be motivated to such an act. They too, are creations of the One Life.

Let me remember today, to refuse to be a place where fear, or anger, or hate can find a home. Today, I stand in the Truth, that we are one people, one world, one humanity, and that Love truly is the only answer.

Let me remember today, that the wisdom and divine intelligence of Spirit is present in all our leaders – military, political and others, guiding the hand of justice, that it may be sure and swift. Let me remember today that justice is never motivated by vengeance or fear.

Let me remember today, those brave souls who are giving their lives for others and those who toil so diligently to make a path for peace and democracy. May the strength and the fortitude of Spirit be their ever present companion.

Let me remember today, that life is precious, that each moment is an opportunity to Love, and each breath a blessing from Spirit. Let me remember today, that Love is the answer, and Peace is the way.

And So It Is! Amen

Rev. Petra Weldes

Are you letting love in?

Are you letting love in?

Something that stands in our way of experiencing Love is our inability or unwillingness to let it in. Receiving Love means that we open our minds and hearts to the love that is already, always present. Acts of forgiveness and acceptance of ourselves and others opens the door for reconciliation and love.

We must disrupt the patterns of thought, feeling and behavior that come from betrayals and rejections that we have experienced and the resistance to life these have created within us. We Make Love real by allowing it in at every level, even when we are afraid of being hurt.

Practice Being Love

Practice Being Love

This is the practice of giving grace and compassion to others and to ourselves. To Be Love we engage in disrupting the patterns of judgement and criticism towards others while letting go of the false sense of self which we often feel as the imposter syndrome.

Being Love is to remember that the Life that is living as us IS the Universal Presence seeking to express itself uniquely as you and me. That is how loved we are – we are the place where Love is seeking to Be Itself, as us! It may take practice, but it’s the most important game in town! We Make Love Real by giving grace and being compassion.

So, what is Love?

So, what is Love?

My favorite psychological definition, stripped of any romanticizing, is “A positive regard for another which includes wanting what is best for them.”  The ancient Greeks were smart enough to have 3 words for Love – Eros, Philia, and Agape.

None of which spoke about loving chocolate or things or even experiences but only about the ways human beings relate to each other.  And then we come to Science of Mind, which states that “Love is the Self-Givingness of Spirit into Its creation”, “Love is the impulse behind creation”, and “Love is the impulse of Life to express.”

We begin by reawakening our eyes of wonder and awe. This allows us to See Love! Or to notice all the ways we don’t see love due to the way we are looking. How do we regard each other, the people around us, and most critically at this time, our beautiful planet? Are we in awe of the Presence of Life? Are we able to wonder at the uniqueness of each being? Do we wonder about the possible, the hopeful, and the meaningful? How can we recreate newness in our relationships by discovering what is wonderful and awe-inspiring in those we love?

To find our deeper sense of wonder and awe we need to disrupt our love of comfort, convenience, conformity, and the utilitarian and easy ways to want our engagement in life to be. We Make Love Real by seeing all the ways and places it is already expressed.
