As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. John F. Kennedy

I read this headline, “The Single Thing That Guarantees Success,” the other day and thought that someone was making an outrageous claim so they could sell me something. I was still intrigued, so I looked into their claims. To my astonishment, I discovered sound spiritual advice for everyday living and for creating success in business, relationships, and one’s own life experience.

What is this secret? It is the attitude of gratitude, the expression of appreciation, the ability to give thanks throughout one’s day and interactions. What a novel concept . . . neither a program nor elixir designed to make me a better manager or cure my ills, but rather a simple and elegant spiritual truth.

Gratitude focuses us on what is good in what is present. We know that what one focuses on continues to grow in consciousness and in reality. Growing dreams into reality and valuing others and ourselves while experiencing Love as the very wind beneath our wings—this seems like a perfect recipe for success and a powerful platform from which to make a meaningful contribution to life.

Spiritual Contemplation: Are you grateful to, and for, the people in your life—at home and at work?

Affirmation: I easily express and share my gratitude for those in my life. I appreciate everyone who shares the journey with me!
