CSLDALLAS VOTES!
October 1, 2020
The Science of Mind philosophy teaches us that we are co-creators of our reality. If we want to have a different experience, we must put a new cause into motion. As citizens of the United States, we have a duty and responsibility to participate in the democratic process….in the words of Marian Wright Edelman, “Democracy is not a spectator sport.”
The CSL Global Vision states “We envision a world where personal responsibility joins with social conscience in every area of the political, corporate, academic and social sectors, providing sustainable structures to further the emerging global consciousness.” To that end we encourage every member of our community, along with their families and friends (in a non-partisan way) to participate in your right to vote. It’s time to “Treat and Move our collective feet!”
One of the tenets of our CSL Global Vision is that we also “Envision a world where personal responsibility joins with social conscience in every area of the political, corporate, academic, and social sectors, providing sustainable structures to further the emerging global consciousness”. To that end we are encouraging all beloveds (in a non-partisan way) to participate in your right to vote. Here are a few ways to get started. This year’s election will be unlike any other due to COVID-19 and the removal of the straight party ticket voting option from the ballot. Many will experience longer wait times than normal, which could serve as a deterrent for people getting out to vote. COVID-19 concerns, efforts to cast doubt on the integrity of the election, and threats of voter intimidation have also increased anxiety about showing up to vote. CSLDallas is providing resources to counter these narratives and encourage voting with confidence by participating in an Adopt A Polling Site Initiative sponsored by Faith In Texas.
The Adopt a Polling Site Initiative focuses on providing key resources for each polling location to help ensure open, trouble-free, equitable, and safe voting:
-
Water
-
Personal Protective Equipment (masks, sanitizer, gloves, etc.)
-
Snacks
-
Poll Monitoring and Observation
