Looking To The Future of CSLDallas.
Rev Marquita Pierre-McAlister
Dear Beloved Community,
I’ve started this letter a few different ways and every version comes back to the same truth: I love this community.

Over these past months, I have been deeply inspired by the love, generosity, and spiritual commitment that defines CSLDallas. Together, we have welcomed new faces, witnessed lives transformed through our teachings, and continued building a community where people discover hope, connection, and the truth of who they are.
That is why this year’s Adventures in Spirit theme, E³ — Experiment. Experience. Expect., is so meaningful. Our annual campaign is more than creating a budget—it is about consciously creating our future. Every pledge is an affirmation that what happens here matters and that together we can expand the impact of this spiritual home.
As we prayerfully consider our financial commitment for the coming year, we are doing more than supporting an organization. We are investing in a vision that welcomes all, transforms lives, and awakens humanity to its spiritual magnificence—one person at a time.
Thank you for believing in this community and for the generosity that makes its mission possible. I truly believe the best chapters of CSLDallas are still ahead of us, and I am grateful that we get to create them together.

This year, we are reminded that abundance is a consciousness—not simply a reflection of our circumstances. In the midst of changing economic conditions and the challenges of everyday life, we have an opportunity to put our spiritual principles into practice and experience the power of partnership with Spirit.
At CSLDallas, we are all scientists in a living laboratory, experimenting with the power of our thoughts, beliefs, and actions. Our simple formula reminds us of the process:
E³ = Experiment • Expect • Experience
We experiment through classes, Sunday celebrations, Circles, workshops, Sanghas, volunteer opportunities, and meaningful connections with one another. We expect greater possibilities by cultivating a consciousness of abundance. And, we experience the results as our individual lives—and our community—expand.
Your pledge is an investment in that laboratory. It helps CSLDallas create opportunities for spiritual growth, meaningful connection, education, outreach, and experiences that allow more people to discover and live these teachings.
Every pledge matters. Whether large or small, your commitment is a powerful expression of your belief in what is possible when we come together. As we look toward 2027, we invite you to join us in creating a vibrant, growing, and spiritually engaged CSLDallas.
Let’s experiment boldly, expect abundantly, and experience together what is possible when we invest in our shared future.

Why Others Continue To Contribute To CSLDallas
Why I Financially Support CSLDallas
More than a decade ago, my journey with CSL Dallas began with an introduction from a beautiful young woman and her incredibly talented son. That remarkable woman would later become my wife, and what started as a simple invitation became the beginning of a lifelong spiritual home.

CSLDallas has been present through some of the most meaningful moments of my life. My wife and I were married there, surrounded by a loving community that celebrated our union. Her son attended Science of Mind Summer Camp for several years, where he was encouraged to grow spiritually in a nurturing environment. Later, my wife gave birth to our son, and together our family continued to grow alongside the CSLDallas community.
Through classes and study, I have learned the principles and practices of Religious Science and the Science of Mind. Those teachings have transformed the way I see myself, others, and the world. They have given me practical spiritual tools that continue to guide my life with greater faith, compassion, responsibility, and possibility.
What truly makes CSLDallas special, however, is its people. Its visionary leadership, dedicated staff, compassionate practitioners, and beloved members have become more than a congregation—they have become family.
I give financially to CSLDallas because I believe in paying forward the countless gifts I have received. My support helps ensure that others will discover a welcoming spiritual home just as I did. There will always be people searching for hope, healing, purpose, and belonging. I want CSLDallas to remain a place where they can learn, grow, and awaken to their spiritual truth—a community that is Radically Inclusive, Spiritually Progressive, and Transforming Lives.

My experience and why I continue to support CSLDallas
I was asked to explain why I support CSLDallas. I love this community-family here and feel honored and thankful to be able to support it. I came to my first service in the summer of 2007.

The music and message definitely brought me back each week, as much as the warm welcome we received by community members. I soon began volunteering and taking classes to fully understand what I was hearing in the Sunday talks by the minister. I helped in the kitchen serving food and cleaning up; welcoming those who came Sunday mornings as a greeter; working on the remodeling of this space; and pitching in on whatever was needed in events and gatherings. I also served on the Stewardship Core, the AIS committee four times and as a co-chair once and on the Core Council. All of this activity showed me the spiritual practice of service and gratitude.
I became a member in spring of 2008 along with taking several classes here, and I began my transformation spiritually with spiritual practices I learned. This process impacted my view of the world, helping me start seeing the divine in each person I encounter and to begin to understand how to manage the human circumstances in front of me that sometimes causes friction or anxiety.
Along with the spiritual practices of service and gratitude I learned the important practice of giving. I have pledged every year to support this Center. I want to keep CSLDallas alive and welcoming to visitors just as I was warmly welcomed. We began pledging modestly, but increased every year along with affirmations and intentions for prosperity for us and the Center as well. Each time these contributions provided demonstrations to us of our prosperity and more than met our intentions. By each of these demonstrations I gained depth in my spiritual mind treatments, out picturing my realizations and knowing my intentions would manifest. The classes were instrumental in this, and not just learning the process but providing me the tools to practice it. Learning the spiritual practices were transforming my life to be a better me spiritually and as a human in this world.

Why CSLDallas means so much to me
In 2009, I walked into the Center for Spiritual Living Dallas for the first time. I had little religious or spiritual upbringing, but I knew something was missing in my life. I was searching for a place where I could ask questions, grow, and explore what spirituality meant to me without judgment or rigid expectations.

Many years later, CSLDallas is still part of my life because I believe in feeding where I am fed. Here, I have made meaningful connections, taken classes, and deepened my understanding of the role Spirit plays in my life. I have come to see that my dreams, my work, and my relationships are strengthened when I remember that we are connected, not separate.
CSLDallas aligns with my heart and my beliefs. It is a place where inclusion is lived, where people are encouraged to be fully themselves, and where spiritual principles are applied to everyday life. It has helped me understand that faith is not about having all the answers. It is about staying open, listening, learning, and recognizing the power within ourselves and one another.
What CSLDallas means to me is belonging, growth, and possibility. It is a community that has supported me through life’s chapters and continues to remind me that I am never walking alone.
I give because this community has given so much to me. I feed where I am fed, and CSLDallas continues to nourish my spirit, expand my thinking, and help me live with greater purpose. It has become home for my heart, my hope, and my future.

My Spiritual journey at CSLDallas
My Spiritual journey began at Center for Spiritual Living in Anchorage Alaska. It was there that everything changed. My husband and I were on a sincere quest to experience a deeper connection with God.

We wanted to move beyond what we had been taught and discover the truth of who God is and who we are in relationship to the Divine.
As Christians, I felt confined by the limitations of the ” box” I’ve been living in until I was introduced to Science of Mind.
I enrolled in the Foundation class, taught by none other than Rev. Marquita and that experience became the beginning of a profound
spiritual awakening.
A few years later we moved to Dallas, before we left, Rev Marquita said “you guys should go to CSLDallas and visit Petra you’ll love
her” she was absolutely right.
I have been at CSLDallas ever since. Over the years I have grown tremendously in my Spiritual understanding and realization of truth. I have built beautiful friendships that have become family. Through sickness, the loss of loved ones, seasons of feeling stuck and uncertain, joyful Spiritual Tours and life’s many transitions, I’ve been embraced with extraordinary love and support from the Ministers, Practitioners and the members of CSLDallas.
Many of them know my story. They have walked beside me, prayed with me, encouraged me, and loved me in ways my biological family was not able to. For that I will be forever grateful. That is one of the reasons I joyfully tithe to CSLDallas.
Another reason I tithe to CSLDallas is that I now live with a consciousness of abundance.
Through the teachings of Science of Mind, I recognize who I truly am, an individualized expression of the One life, the One Presence the One Power. I know that I live, move and have my being in the infinite Ocean of Divine substance. Out of that realization I give – not from obligation but from gratitude, love and joyful recognition that there is always more than enough.
My tithe is the Celebration of the truth that I have come to know and the spiritual home that helped awaken it within me.
Peace, Love and Light.

Since joining a few years ago, I regularly attend the class and celebration on each Sunday and I have completed several virtual courses. I even serve on two committees. Through these experiences, I have expanded my understanding of Science of Mind, deepened my spiritual practice, and ffeel supported on my journey.
CSLDallas reminds me that spiritual growth is not limited by distance. This community provides wisdom, connection, encouragement, and practical tools that help me live with greater awareness, abundance, and purpose.
I am supporting CSLDallas during this AIS pledge campaign, and I invite you to join me.
Your pledge helps sustain and grow this spiritual community so that more people—near and far—can be uplifted, inspired, and transformed. I look forward to seeing you online and in person whenever I visit.

Why we choose CSLDallas as our Spiritual Community
When I reflect on why I chose CSL Dallas as my spiritual community, I must also consider how I arrived here.
I have been practicing the principles of Science of Mind since the late 1980s and early1990s while attending a variety of spiritual communities, including Catholic, Pentecostal,
non-denominational, Presbyterian, and Unitarian Universalist churches. In each of these communities, I volunteered my time and resources and became actively involved in their
ministries. Yet, despite the meaningful experiences and relationships I developed,
something inevitably felt incomplete.
Over time, that sense of disconnection would lead
me to continue searching.
I credit my husband with introducing me to the Centers for Spiritual Living community. We met in 2018, and at the time he was attending another North Texas Science of Mind center.
While there, we met a member who also attended CSLDallas and encouraged us to visit. When Malcolm and I realized the other center was not the right fit for us, we decided to give
CSLDallas a try. We began attending in 2022 and became members shortly thereafter.
Beyond the Sunday services, what drew me most to CSLDallas was the authentic,
welcoming, inclusive, and down-to-earth community. The people are genuinely invested in one another’s spiritual growth without pretense or judgment. The ministers, practitioners,
and members embody the principles they teach. They truly walk the walk while accepting people exactly as they are and honoring each person’s unique spiritual journey.
When Malcolm and I were married in 2021, before we found CSL Dallas, I wrote my own wedding vows. One of the promises I made was that we would intentionally grow our relationship through the principles of Science of Mind and Unitarian Universalism. It wasn’t until we found this community that I felt fully supported in living that promise. CSLDallas
has provided not only spiritual teachings, but also a living example of what those teachings
look like in practice.
Whether you are new to CSLDallas or have been part of this community for years, I encourage you to immerse yourself in all it has to offer. Attend classes, volunteer, build relationships, and allow yourself to be supported as you grow. The opportunities for transformation extend far beyond Sunday mornings, and the gifts you receive may exceed anything you could have imagined.
Namaste = the light in me, honors the light in you.
