Be of Service

Make an IMPACT through Community Service

CSLDallas is committed to creating “a world that works for everyone and a life that works for me.” Community Service is about making this commitment real – it’s our LOVE in action. Volunteering is one of our five spiritual practices - Sacred Service. The Sacred Service of our CSLDallas volunteers "takes it to the streets" -- our joy, our love, our hearts and hands of service. Our time, talent and dedication are a testament to being the change in the world. We serve in both our local community and support global initiatives.

“It is quite a burden lifted when we realize we do not have to move the world – it is going to move anyway. This realization does not lessen our duty or our social obligation. It clarifies it. It enables us to do joyously, and free from morbidity, that which we should do in the social state.” - Ernest Holmes

Our current initiatives include:

Gooch Elementary School –

We have supported this school for over 10 years. Gooch serves children 65% of whom live below the poverty line. Every year we collect and donate school uniforms, Thanksgiving baskets, and supplies. We have built gardens, supported their annual carnival, and painted the playground equipment. We continue to evolve our ongoing relationship with this amazing school (that sets the sites of every child on making it to college) at every level.

"Prayer in action is love. Love in action is service." - Mother Teresa

Diversity and the healing of discrimination and injustice –

We have ongoing programs addressing these topics and are developing partnerships with organizations and groups around DFW.

Recycling and sustainable community –

CSLDallas is a green community. We practice this in our kitchens, offices, and around the community while inspiring our community members to take a green consciousness home and into their workplaces.

CommunityServiceBowlsCSLDallas is continually inspired to offer and partner with peace, hunger, homelessness, poverty and other social justice projects as our community members bring forward their passions and commitments. Are you one of those people? Contact Rev Karen Fry at
