SUMMARY:Celebracion del Dia de los Muertos
DESCRIPTION:Halloween is filled with ghouls\, ghosts\, and scary graveyard scenes. While it’s fun for the kids to dress up and “trick or treat”\, the images continue to promote an unhealthy fear of death\, an aversion to confronting our mortality\, and the sense that losing a loved one is only honored through grief.  However\, death is an inevitable part of life\, and taking it up differently opens the door to a rich spiritually grounded\, and loving relationship with life\, death\, and those who have gone before.  \nDía de los Muertos is a celebration of the eternality of Life. With pictures and stories\, offrendas  (altars with marigolds\, decorations\, food\, and other items) honor our ancestors and their lives. It invites the souls of our loved ones to come visit us so that the connection with them stays alive. The Day of the Dead also celebrates the infinite nature of the human spirit and is grounded in the deep knowing that our loved ones have only crossed the veil\, into the great unknown.   \nGrown out of a combination of ancient Indigenous and Meso-American Incas\, Aztecs and Mayans) traditions and the Catholic All Saints and All Souls Days of the conquering Spaniards\, the Day of the Dead has deep roots. Its current form of celebration is a decidedly modern version yet retains its traditional roots.    \nCSLDallas’ Ritual Team with Dr Petra and Sami Gonzales invite you to celebrate Día de los Muertos with us this year. This is a festive time of story\, bright colors\, and special food.  It’s a time to more deeply embody what we believe about life hereafter while releasing fear and despair around physical death.  \nOur afternoon includes:  \n\nSacred Prayers\, in English and Spanish \n\n\nGround in Ancient and New Thought Spiritual Truth \n\n\nPlace your loved one on the offrenda (with a photo or something we provide) \n\n\nWrite a note to your departed loved one(s) \n\n\nCelebrate with music & traditional bread\, sweets\, and drink  \n\n\nShare stories as we break bread together. \n\nLove offering appreciated  \nIn-person at CSLDallas *No Registration Required*
