SUMMARY:Leadership Lab Series - Facing Racism
DESCRIPTION:You are invited on a profound adventure. \nThis Leadership Lab series is designed to be an active learning experience where participants discover and grow together. \nWe envision this as a time to explore ways that proven concepts\, spiritual principles\, and future possibilities can be integrated to lead CSLDallas\, our workplaces\, and the world\, toward a shared vision. \nWhat is a Leadership Lab? \nThe Merriam-Webster definition of “laboratory” is: “a place equipped for experimental study in a science or for testing and analysis … a place providing an opportunity for experimentation\, observation\, or practice in a field of study. \nThis Leadership Lab is designed to be a series that provides an opportunity for learning more and practicing the skills and behaviors that lead to more effective inclusion in our workplaces and spiritual communities. \nJust like in a scientific lab\, each Leadership Lab will focus on one theme or be designed to practice skills related to a particular aspect of inclusion. \nWhy are we focusing on Facing Racism? \nFor this Leadership Lab\, the focus is on encouraging and preparing participants to have a positive impact in a multi-racial\, multi-ethnic community\, workplace\, and nation. We have chosen to focus specifically on race\, rather than all aspects of diversity because for many people\, race is the most difficult topic or the issue they are least experienced dealing with in a direct and proactive manner. \nWe believe the understanding and skill gained by doing a deep dive into this aspect of diversity can\, and should\, be applied to other diversity-related categories. \n\nWhat can you expect in these six modules: \n\nAuthentic conversations\nSelf-reflection and awareness\nInformation sharing\nFacilitated discussion\nStructured activities\nTools and resources\nRole-playing and practice\nSelf-directed learning activities\nAdditional resources for further exploration\n\n\nHow will we measure success?\n\nParticipants can point out\, speak to\, and interrupt unconscious racial bias\nUse spiritual principles to explain the commitment to inclusion\nCan “stay in the arena” in conversations about inclusion\nParticipants can name the condition and move into a spiritual principle\nThis lab contributes to the measurable increase in inclusion\nwithin workplaces and communities within 2-3 years.\nWithin 3 months after completion of the Lab\, CSLDallas volunteer teams implemented an action plan to increase a sense of belonging and ensure consistent demonstration of being radically inclusive.\n\nRSVP Now\nFacilitated by: Dr Tracy Brown\, Briana Ebmeier\, Dana Jones\, and Dr Petra Weldes \nThis series is In-Person Only – Light Lunch will be provided for each session.  The rest of the dates in this series are:\nSunday\, May 19 – 12:30 – 3 pm \nSunday\, July 14 – 12:30 – 3 pm \nSaturday\, Sept 14 – 9:30 am – 4 PM \nSunday\, November 3 – 12:30 – 3 pm\n \n\n\n	Related
